*Tyler Perry’s new promo for the launch of his new OWN series is a hilarious mash up of his popular ‘Madea’ who is in search of Oprah’s “The Color Purple” ‘Sofia” (see it below).
The actor and producer and filmmaker and whatever else he’s got under his belt, is set to push two original shows for OWN, “The Haves and the Have Nots” along with “Love Thy Neighbor.” Both will premiere on May 28 and 29.
In conjunction, Oprah’s exclusive interview with Tyler on “Oprah’s Next Chapter” will air on May 26.
A press release for the network’s upcoming events reveals that immediately following the “Next Chapter” chat, it’s off to Atlanta for “Tyler Perry Comes to OWN: Behind The Scenes,” a backstage peek at Perry’s studios and a look inside the “Perry process.”
In addition to all the wonderful excitement, the two have something else to celebrate.
Tyler’s new collection of series happen to be the first sitcoms the network has seen since it’s 2011 launch.
“The Haves and the Have Nots” will follow the lives the wealthy Cryer family and their maid, Hanna, while the comedy “Love Thy Neighbor” will channel “Alice” at a family-owned neighborhood restaurant called Love Train Diner.
“Love Thy Neighbor” is based the Mama Hattie character from Perry’s plays, while “The Haves and the Have Nots” is based on Perry’s 2011 musical play of the same name.

Forget about having 15 minutes of fame because Sweet Brown just parlayed hers into so much more. She’s been filming a reality show called “The Sweet Browns”, according to The Grio.
Her show is said to be a cross between “The Jeffersons” and “The Beverly Hillbillies”, and it’s going to chronicle her newly found fame.
“It’s gonna be hilarious. You’re gonna really crack up,” Sweet Brown says.
If that wasn’t enough, Sweet Brown is also going to be in the upcoming Tyler Perry film, “A Madea Christmas”. It will be her big film debut.
“We filmed it already,” Sweet Brown said. “Tyler is so awesome. He’s very awesome. I would love to work with him again. He just makes you feel at home.”
Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, she is also coming out with her own cookbook, a BBQ sauce (it will be called Oh Lord Jesus It’s a FIRE), and a game app. (A game app!)
Who knew Sweet Brown would ever become one of the most hardworking women in Hollywood?

The dictionary defines "scandal" as disgraceful actions, offensive behavior, defamatory talk, or malicious gossip. So, should Christians be watching "Scandal" on TV? Short answer: No! One might think that watching such behavior is innocent since it's merely peering into the actions of others. However, when a person is "entertained" by something, they are participating in it, or it would not be entertaining. The Bible says " . . . do not share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure. (1 Timothy 5:22 NIV). Celebrating or being entertained by the "scandalous" behavior of others, to God, is participating in it. We can't sing "I am a friend of God" on Sunday and then be entertained by His enemies for an hour on Thursday night! Saints, you know I am hard on those of us who are in leadership. However, it's not just about the pulpit. Coming to church with "scandal" in your spirit is just as offensive to God and injurious to a worship service as a pastor who comes to church leading a "scandalous" life.
Outrageous! These so called "Christian reality shows" are not reflecting the reality of God. Instead, they are bringing disgrace and dishonor to the faith, and possibly hindering the salvation of those who would come to know God. Church pastors and artists who sell their souls to Hollywood in order to participate in this filth will be held accountable. They are causing people to stumble and defiling the Church. These folks have abandoned their callings as Holy men and women of God and are now serving the Devil! http://m.christianpost.com/news/pastors-of-la-reality-show-to-feature-dating-life-of-bishop-noel-jones-lisaraye-mccoy--96058/cpt
