Dear Steve and Shirley I am a 30-year-old man who met and fell madly in love with a beautiful woman. We were inseparable for two years and I knew I had found the love of my life so I decided to make it official and proposed to my baby. Two months after, I found out that my fiance had kept in touch with an old boyfriend/friend that I had asked her to let go because he was texting a little too much for someone she used to love. She told me that she had but I found messages between them where he was asking to be back in her life and she advised him to be patient while she tried to change my mind. A month after that, I found a message between her and a co-worker that she used to talk to talking about their mutual attraction for each other. When I saw this I called the wedding off, told her that she obviously was not ready to be married if she was having these kinds of conversations, and didn't know how to let go of past relationships. I also soon found out by lying and manipulating her that they shared a kiss at work while we were engaged. She said it was a peck but it doesn't matter, we were engaged to be married. Keep in mind that while all of this is going on, we were living together. Forced to live together and deal with these issues, I realized some things about myself and am trying to move forward, forget what happened, and get back together with her. I was controlling and very demanding of our time when we were together and maybe that led her to do what she did, I don't know. All I know is that I want her back now. Am I being foolish? Should I do what seems impossible to my heart and pack up and move on? Steve, please help. I can't live without this woman and at the same time, I don't know how to trust her with all of my heart again.
