The White House has removed a petition from their We The People site that had called for Beyonce to be disinvited from performing the national anthem atPresident Barack Obama's inauguration -- and it's all because of her $50 million deal with Pepsi. According to Politico, the petition wasn't removed because Beyonce is a Obama supporter, it was removed because the White House doesn't have "jurisdiction" over the inauguration.

A spokesman said, "Since the Presidential Inaugural Committee is a whole separate entity that handles the Inauguration ... the White House doesn't control who is singing at the inaugural ceremony."

  • When asked if the president had anything to do with Beyonce performing at the Inauguration, the spokesman said, "The president obviously wears a lot of hats and is involved in all kinds of activities," but repeated that "the White House is not in charge of the Inauguration."
