Jermaine Jackson, one of the five original brothers in the Motown group, along with Michael, Tito, Marlon and Jackie, is currently petitioning to have his surname changed to “Jacksun,” The Associated Press reports.
Jackson, 57, states that he is requesting the moniker change for “artistic reasons,” but he will not elaborate any further.
Though the request has not yet been approved, a hearing is set for Feb. 22 in Los Angeles to determine whether the performer will be allowed to change up his famous last name.
