Dear Doug,

I’m about to put my man up out of the house! Yes…it’s true! You see Doug, I have been with my husband for 18 years and out of those 18 he’s been incarcerated on and off for 12.  We have 3 kids ages 8, 11 and 17. I have been the sole caretaker and provider for these kids.  My husband was just released last year from prison.  Since then, he has not found a job and does not contribute to the household.  He says he can’t find a job and that the world is not kind to a felon and no one will hire him.
As much as I understand this Doug, I still just can’t take it anymore.  I have lost all patience and respect and so has my 17 year old son. You see, my 17 year old works and contributes to the household and has done so in the absence of his father.  Needless to say my two youngest adore him.
I can see that my son does not respect his Father and I can see why.  There is nothing but DRAMA in our household.  I told his mother I can’t take it anymore! I have been the backbone of this relationship and family for far too long?  So am I wrong to put him out this time or should I be true to my vows? I do not want my youngest to see this example of a man?
Please help!
