Evanston City Council Approves Reparations For Residents

Evanston is paying black people back.

The Evanston City Council voted to adopt a resolution to fund reparations for its black residents. The approved budget for the program is $400 thousand dollars.

The north suburb will become the first city in the country to implement a program to fund reparations for its black residents.

Hopefully other cities will follow this example, as black people for many years have not had an opportunity to take advantage of resources that would afford them generational wealth.
